James and Friends Sell Toys for Young Carers
Last month James Kennaugh and his friends Flossy and Lily Corkish, and Claudia and Aemilia Gaskell held their own fundraiser to raise money for Crossroads' Young Carers.
The group of friends raised £155 from selling their old toys and decided they would like to donate the money to our Young Carers project.
James is a young carer on our referral list and attended our Young Carers Festival in July. He had such a brilliant time over the two days that he decided he would like to give something back.
Our Young Carers project supports young people who care for a parent or sibling. We run fortnightly sessions for our regular young carers, and quarterly sessions for those on our referral list, to give them a break from their caring responsibilities and have fun. The young carers take part in activities including crafts, trips out, and games.
A huge well done and thank you to James, Flossy, Lily, Claudia and Aemilia for a brilliant fundraising effort and for choosing to support our Young Carers! You are all superstars!
