Jackie Betteridge - Chief Executive Officer
Jackie joined Crossroads in 2002 as Young Carers Lead before becoming Head of Children’s Services. In 2006, she became Crossroads' Chief Executive Officer. Jackie oversees the whole of the organisation and leads the Senior Management team to ensure the smooth running of services. Jackie is heavily involved in the third sector and works closely with the Department of Health and Social Care and Manx Care to champion the rights of carers. She also sits on various Boards and Panels including the Island's Council of Voluntary Organisations (CVO), and more recently the Isle of Man's Bronze Operational Command Team, a committee that oversaw decisions to relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jackie also sits on the Age Well Partnership Board and the Integrated Care Executive Steering Group. As part of her role as CEO, Jackie plays an instrumental part in advancing support and services for carers and during her time with Crossroads she has dedicated herself to making carers voices heard.
Karen Harris - Finance Officer
Karen is a qualified Accounting Technician and prior to working for Crossroads spent many years in the London retail sector at management level. Karen first joined Crossroads in 2003 as a part time finance worker which turned into a full time role due to the charity’s growth. Since then, Karen has become a Senior Manager and is currently responsible for managing the charity's finances and administration. In 2008, Karen was instrumental in the opening of Crossroads’ first charity shop and oversaw the development of the charity shops, of which there are now three.
Jayne Sloane - Strategic Officer
Jayne became Crossroads' Adult Services Officer when she joined the charity in 2013 and was responsible for all of our Adult Services projects. In 2020, Jayne became our Strategic Officer and is responsible for developing our current project and services, and working on contracts and grants to deliver new initiatives. Jayne is a trained nurse and has various Health and Social Care qualifications including a Level 2 in Dementia Care and a Level 2 in Independent Advocacy. Before joining Crossroads, Jayne was a Senior Manager for Isle of Man Live at Home and has vast experience in the third sector. During Jayne’s time at Crossroads she helped create the ASK project which provides additional home care services. Jayne sits on various panels and committees including the Council of Voluntary Organisations, also oversees Crossroads’ involvement with the MS Society. Jayne regularly works with the Department of Health and Social Care in relation to disability related benefits and was responsible for initiating Crossroads’ service in assisting with completing Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance forms.
Hannah Murphy - Operational Officer
Hannah joined Crossroads as a Children's Support Worker and during her 16 years with the charity has worked as a Young Carers Worker, Crossroads Community Venture (CCV) Team Lead and Disability Services Coordinator before becoming our Children’s Services Officer. Hannah is now the Operational Officer for Crossroads and oversees the whole of our Adult and Children’s Services, supporting the team to deliver services and develop new and existing projects. Since Hannah has been with organisation, she has helped expand our Nursery and Young Carers project, and has also set up new services within the organisation including CCV and Children’s ASK. Hannah currently sits on the Isle of Man's Safeguarding Board as an independent member and regularly liaises with other third sector organisations, the Isle of Man Government, the local police and health groups to ensure Crossroads continues to deliver services that are meaningful to the cared for and carer.
