Carers Support Fund
Crossroads has launched a Carers Support Fund to support vulnerable carers throughout the COVID-19 global pandemic.
We know that right now, so many charities here on island are doing some wonderful work to help those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are continuing to support local carers and the people they care for in our community by providing our home care services and helping with tasks including food preparation and prescription collection, and our nursery remains open for the children of key workers.
For carers, the Coronavirus emergency has made an already difficult situation even harder.
Many carers are facing more pressure than ever before as they try to navigate their usual caring responsibilities with obstacles such as not being able to get to the shop or access their usual respite services. This can have a knock-on effect on the people they care for.
We are determined to play our part in helping our island’s most vulnerable people and are asking you to help us support local carers throughout this crisis. Therefore we have decided to launch the Carers Support Fund.
We appreciate that not everyone is in a position to donate at the moment, and we of course completely understand that. But if you can, we are asking for your help, however big or small, to keep helping us to support local carers.
Like other charities, Crossroads cannot currently fundraise as normal and have had to temporarily close our three charity shops. We have also had to suspend our paid services including our nursery and day services.
Your donation to will go straight towards our Carers Support Fund which will help us keep things running and provide a sense of normality to our carers. We will be able to use your donation to provide more support to our carers and offer additional services such as food shopping, collecting and delivering prescriptions, and picking up essential items at no additional cost to our carers.
For example, £5 can go towards transport costs, £10 can help purchase food for a carer, and £25 can provide one hour of care for a carer and the person they care for, providing much needed respite.
If you would like to donate then please visit our JustGiving page, or simply use the ‘DONATE’ button on our website with the reference ‘Carers Fund’.
We also welcome anyone who wants fundraise for our charity, every little bit of support helps.
