Crossroads Care understand how important carers are in our community. With more than 3 in 5 of us destined to become a carer, and sometimes more than once, we know how important it is to help people recognise that they are carers, understand how they can manage their caring role, support them to keep caring and help the community understand what they are going through.

Some of us will have a child born with a care need, some will have a husband or wife who has an accident or suffers an illness, for many we will be the ones caring for our elderly parents. Our island has nearly 1000 young carers who help to look after a parent, brother or sister with a care need. Everyone deserves to know they are valued and supported and we raise awareness so that your role as a carer if it happens to you will be valued and understood.

This year Crossroads is celebrating 30 years of caring for local carers and we are having a year of celebrations. We have run various campaigns each year to raise awareness of carers including last years hugely popular ‘Carers Wear Capes’ campaign which celebrated all carers do as unsung superheroes.
